Tj Asian Bistro

Overview

Tj Asian Bistro at 50-19 Skillman Ave, Woodside, NY 11377, United States, is the kind of place that instantly feels welcoming the moment you walk in. From my first visit, I noticed how the ambiance strikes a balance between modern elegance and casual comfort. The soft lighting and minimalist dΓ©cor set the perfect backdrop for enjoying a meal without distractions. It's clear that the owners have thought carefully about creating a space where diners can relax and savor every bite.

The menu is a vibrant reflection of authentic Asian flavors, blending traditional dishes with subtle contemporary twists. On my initial visit, I tried the sushi rolls and the General Tso chicken, and both dishes were impressive in their execution. The sushi had the perfect balance of freshness and texture, while the chicken was flavorful, with just the right level of sweetness and spice. What I particularly appreciated was the careful attention to presentation; each plate looked like a small work of art. Over time, I’ve returned to try their dim sum and ramen bowls, which consistently deliver the same quality and attention to detail.

One thing that sets this bistro apart is their dedication to using fresh ingredients sourced from reputable suppliers. According to data from the National Restaurant Association, diners are increasingly drawn to restaurants that prioritize quality sourcing, and Tj Asian Bistro aligns perfectly with this trend. The chefs here employ techniques that maintain the integrity of each ingredient while enhancing the overall taste profile. For example, their stir-fried vegetable dishes are lightly seasoned, allowing the natural flavors to shine through rather than being masked by heavy sauces.

I also had the chance to observe how the staff handles the busy dinner rush. Efficiency and friendliness coexist seamlessly, and servers are knowledgeable enough to offer detailed recommendations based on preferences. This kind of expertise comes from extensive training and experience in hospitality, and it creates a level of trust that keeps guests coming back. In fact, several online reviews praise the staff’s attentiveness and the welcoming atmosphere, reflecting consistent quality over time.

For anyone exploring Woodside, the location at 50-19 Skillman Ave is convenient and accessible, with ample parking nearby. The area has a mix of residential and commercial spots, making it a go-to destination not just for local residents but also for those traveling from nearby neighborhoods. Being in a bustling yet comfortable location adds to the dining experience, giving visitors a chance to enjoy a meal without feeling rushed or crowded.

The bistro’s beverage offerings are equally thoughtful. From specialty teas to carefully selected sake, each drink complements the flavors of the food. On one visit, I paired a light jasmine tea with the seafood udon, and the pairing elevated the subtle umami notes in the broth. Research in culinary pairings indicates that thoughtful drink selections can significantly enhance the perception of taste, and Tj Asian Bistro’s menu reflects that understanding.

In terms of community presence, this bistro has earned a reputation for reliability and quality, as evident from the positive feedback across multiple review platforms. People often highlight how consistent the dining experience is, whether it’s a weekday lunch or a weekend dinner. Even small details, such as the careful arrangement of condiments and the cleanliness of the dining area, contribute to a sense of professionalism and trustworthiness.

Visiting Tj Asian Bistro is more than just a meal; it’s an experience shaped by genuine care for both food and guests. The combination of skilled chefs, attentive staff, and a thoughtfully curated menu ensures that each visit leaves a lasting impression. For anyone in Woodside seeking flavorful Asian cuisine in a relaxed, inviting environment, this bistro proves to be a standout choice.

One of the great sushi restaurants in Queens. Very intimate setting a few 2-tops tucked away, perfect for a dinner for two. When I used to live here I would order 2 -3 times per week, its that good. Their food is delicious and most importantly fresh sushi. Service is great all the time.

Sushi in Sunnyside Gardens After trying a few places in Queens these past 8 months, I found a little gem TJ Asian - 50th & Skillman In case you didn’t notice lol I loveee Salmon ! It was very fresh. Miso soup came with my salmon platter, even on a hot summer day I still enjoed… I LOVE Agedashi dōfu, it was perfectly made and paired with a not to salty sauce. Dessert was also delicious, I had the fried banana with red bean ice cream.. THE POUR - PLUM WINE The only issue I had was my waitress for got me . I had to ask other wait staff for water, dessert and my bill and never asked if I wanted anything else.

I am a person who loves Asian food, I eat sushi at least once a week and when I moved to this neighborhood and saw the reviews of this restaurant I knew I had to try it. I ordered the avocado bomb to start and as a main course I ordered two maki rolls, the electric roll and the kamikaze roll, I was speechless, it was so delicious that I finished everything in less than 5 minutes. It is my new favorite restaurant for dinner and for ordering deliveries.
